I'm in a hole and need some quick cash, Bush Rod. My girlfriend thinks I should get a job, but I have a better, easier way to do it. Gambling! With that in mind, I need your advice. Which NFL spread is a sure thing this week? - Stanley Liwanski
Oh, don't worry Stanley. I got you on this one. In fact, come back each week because I'll tell you which game gets the Bush Rod Stamp of Approval (or BRSA, kind of like a cooler version of MRSA) for betting purposes.
Here's my pick this week and why.
The game: Houston at Arizona The line: Arizona -5.5. The call: Cardinals. Analysis: The Cardinals have had a bye week to sit and think about how bad they played against Indy, and to game plan for the Texans. They are 1-2 so far and another loss puts the team in a huge hole in the division. Additonally, the Cardinals haven't won at home yet, so it's near certain it will happen based on my advanced probability machine. Houston was everybody's sleeper pick to be pretty good this year, but I never figured out why. Matt Schaub? Yawn. Steve Slaton? I prefer Pat White. Andre Johnson? OK, he's a stud. But this isn't the type of team that can hang with the Cardinals.
Run to Vegas, Stanley. And put your money on the Big Red.
