Thoughts on the proposed Amare trade to Golden State? - Ron Zonie

Here was the proposal for those living under a rock: Amare for Andris Biedrins, Brandan Wright, Marco Bellinelli and Stephen Curry.

If that was truly the deal, then yes, the Suns would do good by taking it.

Biedrins actually plays defense, and I love Reggie Miller-lite as a guard to build around. Phoenix would be thin in frontcourt scoring, but still, those are some good pieces to build around.

However, Don Nelson said today Curry isn't getting traded. And without him in the deal, I wouldn't touch it. Biedrins is not nearly enough for Amare.

What they should do is try to trade Ben Wallace for Tyson Chandler. Then, you roll the dice next year with Nash, Amare, Chandler and Jason Richardson as the core. Probably not a championship-caliber squad, but they don't have a first round draft pick in next year's draft, so they can't tank yet.
