All I have to say is, thank you Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie for picking up your sad-sack teammates who couldn't keep a 21-point lead. Either way, a win is a win. I've started out 1-0 in my locks of the week, so I'm sure this will give me a huge amount of credibility and casual gamblers will begin flocking to RTJ. On to week two...
This week's game: Kansas City at Washington The line: The Redskins by 6.5. The call: Kansas City. Analysis: As pointed out by Peter King, Joe Posnanski and others, the Redskins have faced five straight winless teams, and this game will be No. 6. The fact that they have gone just 2-3 tells me something about the Redskins: they stink. Daniel Snyder is an overzealous owner who makes the situation in D.C. nervewracking for all the players and coaches, and nobody really wants to be there. I admit the Chiefs are bad, too, but not 6 1/2 points worse than Washington. If the Redskins played a real schedule and started out 1-4 or 0-5, would the line be this high? No way. So do yourself a favor and take the Chiefs.
Last week's bet: Cardinals (-5.5) over Texans Outcome: Cardinals 28, Texans 21: Correct. Overall record: 1-0
